Got an idea for the next big game show? Bring it to the pitch room. Students dream up original concepts, pitch their ideas, and compete for the chance to take one show from concept to pilot and season production, all while stepping into real production roles. But this class is about more than what happens on camera. Learn to pitch yourself, think on your feet, collaborate under pressure, and turn big ideas into reality under the guidance of JD Roth.
Mondays | 3–5:20 PM
Developed by General Manager Kayden-Harmony alongside reality TV pioneer JD Roth, the course puts students in the driver’s seat of creating an original dating show. From exploring the genre’s history to learning from Emmy-nominated experts, students take their ideas from concept to casting, with the opportunity to see their original series produced as a full season right here at USC.

Good morning, USC! Brew your ideas into LIVE television with The Morning Brew, Trojan Vision’s signature morning talk show. From developing segments and interviewing guests to hosting, directing, and working behind the scenes, learn what it takes to bring a morning show to life. Get your creative juices flowing, find your place on the crew, and start brewing your next big idea!

Your podcast. Your vision. Your voice. In CTPR 404’s Podcast Lab, students bring their ideas to life, learning to produce a podcast from concept to final cut.

The future of entertainment is vertical. The Vertical Drama Lab gives students hands-on experience creating content for the next generation of storytelling.

NEARLY THREE DECADES ON AIR
In its history, Trojan Vision was named the “Best College Television Station in the Country” by Spin Magazine in 2005 and 2006 and has also been a four-time winner of the renowned “Telly Award.” Founded in 1997 to bring live programming into homes across Greater Los Angeles, Trojan Vision has spent nearly three decades evolving with the industry. Today, it’s embracing the platforms of the future and serving as the home of USC’s YouTube content.
